Madeira holiday with family…done!
Here I am on the plane, an Easyjet Airbus returning with Caroline and the kids from a fabulous holiday in Madeira. Thinking this is as a good time as any to reflect over the last 9 days in Madeira. It was early in the year and we didn’t expect this to be anything like a summer holiday, just a great place for a proper getaway, away from the daily stress at work and school. Spending quality time with your kids is a precious commodity these days and we believed Madeira would do just the trick, we were not disappointed. We had the best time with the kids, lots and lots of hysterical laughs and really good times, great food and just chilling.
Our base Quinta Jardim da Serra was a classy mountain hideaway just 15 min from the seafront and Camara de Lobos. Out of reach from any kind of WiFi or other sensible internet connection, allowing both Caroline and myself to simply rest and prey our fingers off the keyboard! Instead we spent loads of time exploring the Island at our own leisure, including some spectacular nature walks, shopping in the island’s capital Funchal or just browsing many of the other great seafront towns around the island. We have been really busy with the camera and you can see the result of our efforts with the on my Maderia Flickr album and to top it off, we choose the hotel because they offered gym, pool, spa and the whole shebang, so we return, in much better shape and feeling good about ourselves. All four of us are really mellow now and ready to get back to reality again. Come on, bring it on ?`
